On the table, a small device, its red light blinking. It looked dangerous.桌上有个小装置，红灯一闪一闪。看着就危险。桌上有個小裝置，紅燈一閃一閃。看著就危險。Trên bàn, một thiết bị nhỏ, đèn đỏ nhấp nháy. Trông thật nguy hiểm.
テーブルの上に小さな装置、赤い光が点滅している。危なそうだった。

The wire had come loose — one light touch, and it looked ready to drop.线松了——好像轻轻一碰，就会掉下来。線鬆了——好像輕輕一碰，就會掉下來。Sợi dây đã lỏng — như chỉ chạm nhẹ một cái là rơi.

Key Sentences
1. V-ます形 + そうです (looks about to / seems)
雨が 降りそうです。
- It looks like it’s about to rain.
- 看起来要下雨了。 / 看起來要下雨了。

2. い-adj (＋〜そう) / な-adj (looks/seems)
この 装置は 危なそうです。
- This device looks dangerous.

3. V-ます形 + そうです (about to happen)
その 線が 落ちそうです。

Grammar Patterns
そう from appearance, and 〜てきます.
V-ます形/Adj + そうです (appearance)
Shows a guess from how something looks. Verb: ます-stem + そう (降りそう). い-adj: drop い + そう (危なそう / exception: いい→よさそう). な-adj/N: directly + そう (元気そう). ≠ 〜そうです『hearsay (L47)』.
〜なさそう / 〜なそう (negative)
Looks like it won't: 降らなさそう, 危なくなさそう. Quick form for 「ない」 → なさそう.
V-て きます
Go somewhere, do the action, and come back: 買って きます (go buy and return). Also marks a change that has begun: 寒く なって きました.

「降りそう」 vs 「降るそう」 — one letter changes everything
降り そう (ます-stem) = it looks like rain (you see dark clouds). 降る そう (plain form) = I heard it will rain (L47, hearsay). Watch the stem!
いい → よさそう, ない → なさそう
Two irregulars to memorize: 「いい」 becomes よさそう, and 「ない」 becomes なさそう. 元気がなさそうです (he looks low on energy).
