Groundwork.
Hours before the operation, the safehouse is already a machine of preparation. The documents are put away where no one will look.文件收在没有人会看的地方。檔案收在沒有人會看的地方。Giấy tờ được cất ở nơi không ai nhìn tới.

出口を知らずに動くことは ない。前もって ルートを確認する。
逃げる まえに、ルートを 確認して おきます。
And the gear — laid out, checked, set in order, long before the clock starts to run.还有装备——在时钟开始走之前很久，就已经摆好、查过、整理妥当。還有裝備——在時鐘開始走之前很久，就已經擺好、查過、整理妥當。Và trang bị — được bày ra, kiểm tra, sắp xếp đâu vào đấy, từ rất lâu trước khi đồng hồ bắt đầu chạy.

Key Sentences
1. V-て あります (prepared state — someone set it up)
壁に 地図が 貼って あります。
- A map is (has been) put up on the wall.

Grammar Patterns
てあります (state) vs ておきます (prep).
V-て あります
Transitive verb + てあります = a state that remains because someone did it on purpose (preparation). 貼ってあります = (someone) put it up, and it's there now.
V-て おきます
Do something in advance, in preparation for the future. 買っておきます = buy it ahead of time. Casual: 〜ときます／〜とく.
てあります vs ています
Both describe states. 〜てあります implies deliberate human action for a purpose (transitive). 〜ています (L29) is often a plain state change (intransitive): 窓が開いています vs 窓が開けてあります.

てあります vs ています — the key difference
- 窓が開いています (L29) — the window is open (just a state; maybe the wind).
- 窓が開けてあります — the window has been opened (someone did it on purpose).
てあります = transitive verb + intention.
ておきます — three nuances
- Prepare in advance: 予約しておきます。
- Leave as is: そのままにしておきます。
- Finish ahead: 読んでおきます。
